PEACE OF MIND

We are a professional home watching service.  Our first priority is providing peace of mind for absent homeowners by catching problems before they become major disasters.  We use an in-depth, customizable, checklist to look for any potential problems or irregularities.  If we notice anything amiss, we immediately report it to you and assist in coordinating licensed professionals to remedy the situation. We provide services for snowbirds, travelers, vacation homeowners, homes for sale and absentee homeowners.  So many things can happen to an unoccupied home.  Let us be your eyes and ears in your absence, your trusted sentry!  Serving the Las Cruces area.
Weather
Thunderstorms here in the desert have been known to cause high winds, rain and hail that can damage homes.  This results in water leaks, broken windows and damage to property outside the home.
Emergencies
Sometimes things happen in your neighborhood that requires your immediate attention.  If you are contacted by the fire or police department or even a concerned neighbor, we can be your local contact.
System Failure
Power outages can wreak havoc on sprinkler systems, home monitoring systems and air conditioning units.  A broken sprinkler or water line can break the bank.

Who are we?

We are Darold and Tracy Dugie, husband and wife and owners and operators of Desert Home Sentry.  We have bought, remodeled and maintained several houses in New Mexico.  As our children were growing up, we flipped houses as a hobby, long before it became a "thing".  Along the way we taught our children how to do everything from laying tile to shingling a roof and everything in between.  This was long before the internet and DIY.    We currently live and own our home in Las Cruces and we are your neighbors.  We bring with us many experiences as homeowners.   We have shoveled snow, fixed broken windows, repaired and cleaned up after water leaks, and numerous other calamities that come with being responsible homeowners.  We enjoy the warm winter weather in Las Cruces and don’t really mind the HOT weather in the summertime.  We retired from our “day” jobs and moved to Las Cruces in 2018, following our hearts, children and  grandchildren.

Good to have around

Darold keeps everything running in tip-top condition around the house.  His career started out in the construction industry where he learned how to build custom homes from the ground up.  He worked in the open pit mining industry operating and servicing heavy equipment and later went to work for the maintenance department of a small school district.  In that position, although specialized, he helped out in all areas from school bus driver and mechanic to grounds maintenance to carpentry and everything in between.  He thoroughly enjoys watching NASCAR races, rock hunting with his grandsons and cards with any grand-kid who will play with him!
